THE KUYTUN VALLEY AS AN EXOGEODYNAMIC TEST SITE FOR PRACTICING THE APPLICATION OF METHODOLOGY FOR INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH IN THE SEDIMENTATION SETTINGS OF LOESS-LIKE COVER DEPOSITS IN THE LATE PLEISTOCENE TRANSBAIKALIA

An interdisciplinary research in the Late Quaternary loess-like cover deposits valley of Kuytunka River (Western Transbaikalia) was aimed at reconstructing conditions and dynamics regional sedimentation. Particular attention is paid to assessing information capacity methods involved therein: lithofacies analysis, grain-size petromagnetic lithochemical analyses. It shown that results each method independently provide additional on processes sedimentation, are not duplicated, make it possible obtain a full characterization factors features sedimentogenesis. found sedimentation cyclic character: warm (soil formation) periods changed cooling-(accumulation sandy-loamy strata); all occurred predominantly semi-arid climate with slight fluctuations humidity. The mode normal formation blanket sedimentary material manifests itself structure properties exposed southern slope (Kuytun-1 section). Intensive processes, reworking remixing sediments gentle north-exposure by catastrophic flows (slope mudflows) cryogenesis reflected Kuytun-2 section.
